He is actually the son of the prince and a woman who left the palace to keep the pregnancy a secret, many years ago. However, the Queen secretly searches for a new Crown Prince outside the palace walls and discovers Lee Hoo(Se7en), a young man who has been working as a Chinese food delivery boy. The conservative party of the Court decides to take this opportunity to gain power and appoints Lee Joon (Kang Doo) as the perfect candidate for Crown Prince strongly backed by the extended royal family. The Queen (Myung Se-bin) is unwed and after the first successor to the throne suddenly dies, the throne is up in the air. Both cast and storyline for Goong S are totally different from Goong (궁).
Though it has a similar name to the past popular series Goong and Goong 2, Goong S is a drama produced by a separate production company, Group Eight and is not an official sequel of Goong (궁). 궁S (Goong S) or Palace S/ Prince Hours is a romantic and funny TV series currently airing on MBC.
